Other information: This collates about a third of a poem by the troubadour poet Bertran de Born (c.1140-90 or so). There’s a translation of it (Dompna puois de mi no.us cal) in Ezra Pound’s Lustra (1916), and it lies behind two other important poems of his, ‘Na Audiart’ (in his first book, A Lume Spento [1908]) and ‘Near Perigord’, also collected in Lustra. Peter Makin’s Provence and Pound is informative, and great fun.
